Providing Everything You Need

Life cycle assesment

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a standardized approach used to measure the environmental impacts of a product across its entire lifespan — from the extraction of raw materials, through manufacturing and use, to its final disposal. This “cradle-to-grave” perspective offers a complete view of how products or activities influence the environment at every stage of their existence.

Today, LCA is applied across a wide range of industries to improve sustainability performance. It supports better decision-making in areas such as product design, choice of materials, supply chain management, and waste reduction.

By quantifying the environmental footprint, businesses can adopt strategies to reduce impacts, improve resource efficiency, and communicate sustainability achievements with greater transparency.

In line with this, the EU Green Claims Directive requires companies to back up environmental claims with reliable, verifiable data. Conducting an LCA is the most effective way to demonstrate credibility and avoid misleading claims.

EPD

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a transparent, third-party verified report that communicates the environmental performance of a product throughout its life cycle. Based on internationally recognized standards such as ISO 14025, ISO 21930 and EN 15804, EPDs provide reliable data on impacts like carbon footprint, resource use, and waste generation. They are increasingly required in industries such as construction, packaging, and consumer goods to meet regulatory demands and qualify for green building certifications like LEED, BREEAM, and DGNB. By developing EPDs, companies can demonstrate their commitment to sustainability, enhance credibility in the market, and gain a competitive edge in environmentally conscious supply chains.

Eco design

In a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) background report, environmental information is organized in depth, spanning impact categories, life cycle stages, raw materials, and manufacturing processes. The assessment pinpoints the main sources of environmental impact while also highlighting areas where improvements can be made. Studies indicate that as much as 80% of a product’s environmental burden is determined during its design stage. By embedding LCA into the ecodesign workflow, potential issues can be addressed proactively, leading to more sustainable product outcomes. With sustainability regulations becoming increasingly demanding, applying LCA within ecodesign helps businesses comply with frameworks such as the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). This ensures that products not only meet regulatory expectations but can also be credibly promoted as environmentally responsible.
